Whew! Today is my first day back at work after an extended, five-day weekend, and I am a tired, tired feepit. While still crazy & hectic & irrational, my immediate supervisor at least seems to be in a better mood this week and isn’t constantly hounding everyone in the HR department. This morning was pretty slack – although I came in to an entire postal box full of mail, because apparently no one will stoop to touch it when I’m gone. I also learned that while we’re hiring for 2 new contracts at the moment (27 people total), we just received word that in less than a week we will need to hire an additional 56 people. All with only three recruiters (me and two others who are temps), one security guy to run all the background checks, and one person authorized to actually make offers to candidates. FUN FUN! Also Creepy McJanitor dude is still creepalicious. I feel nothing short of loathing for that mofo. I think I’m just getting used to working here because I’ve stopped registering anything as bad/weird/crazy. OH. EXCEPT FOR THIS: We now have mandatory training sessions every Friday from 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM. The normal office hours are 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM. However, no one is allowed to take a long lunch on these days, AND we have to stay until normal closing time, AND we can’t put the extra half hour on our timesheets. So not only are we not getting paid, but we’re being forced to work overtime. BOTH OF WHICH ARE NOT LEGAL. SO THERE IS THAT. WHY DO THEY THINK THIS IS OKAY.

Most of the other feepits are in a cosd00min’ frenzy for most of the year. However, Tyler & I decided that we wanted to save our money to buy a house and eventually take a really baller vacation to Hawaii. I’m very excited for both of these things. :D I AM making Kevin a Goku costume and parts of an Ichigo costume though, so I’m not totally out of the costume crunch.  The next con I want to go to is Katsucon 2010, and only so I can wear the Basilisk (from Pet Shop of Horrors) costume I’m planning to make. Oh, and Movie Juri (from Utena) because I always have a butt ton of fun acting like. Well, a butt :D in my Nanami costume. After that I think my cosplayin’, con-goin’ days are over. I’ve started posting my old costumes up for sale in an effort to gain more closet space. All the money will be saved to buy furniture for a nuu Haus, whenever we may gain one.

Oh, right – Tyler is currently on a Haus Hunt! Whenever he’s successful, I’m going to move in with him and live in an OMG HAUS YAY! No more shitty neighbors, no more landlords who don’t care about excessive ant problems, no more leaky dishwasher & laundry closet that smells like pot!! We’ve been searching for about 3 weeks now and have seen two houses we love (both of which we didn’t get). We’re going again this Saturday and I hope hope HOPE we see something we love and THEN I hope we can get it. Wish us luck. :D

Speaking of Tyler, our one year anniversary is coming up in about a week and a half! I’m excited to be celebrating it with him. So excited, in fact, that I’m taking us to Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse for a deliciously fat celebratory steak dinner. Mmmmm.

Also coming up soon: mah birfday! Well, soon-ish. It’s in about a month. Kind of crazy to realize that 2009 is already half over. And that I’ll be 24 (BAWW GETTING OLD T__T). Anyway, Tyler got me a baller (early) birthday gift – an Alienware Area-51 m15x lappy!! It’s SO, SO GREAT. For example: A 790 MB WoW patch downloaded in 15 minutes! And! It can run WoW, and AIM, and a web browser, all while downloading an 800 MB photoshop program, and it runs so FAST! Even with all of those things happening at once. I <3 my nuu lappy!! Now I just have to think of a name for it. :D Also a sign that I am, officially, a “grown up”: I’m really excited about boring birthday presents from my parents – my dad is buying me new front tires for my car and my mom is paying to get my car’s AC fixed. XD

Also this weekend: Tyler’s family is having a big old family picnic at his parents’ place. Nervous jitters: check! Meeting-like-thirty-people-at-once Awkward Personality Syndrome: check! Nervously Awaiting the Outcome of a Bid on a House: Probably also check. Le sigh. I wish I could go to the picnic and down a couple shots immediately before I get there. XD

Hokay. Essay time is at an end. I suppose I should get back to being productive since I AM at work and all. :3

So, lately my urge to make costumes has been replaced by an urge to sew normal-person clothes. Really the only costumes I want to make right now are Belf (WoW), Buttercup (Princess Bride), and Basilisk (Pet Shop of Horrors). If I ever go to BlizzCon, also new Sylvanas. But…I don’t know if I really want to make anything else. It feels kind of weird to say it, but I think (after this year o’ cons) that next Katsucon might be the last con I want to go to (barring a potential Blizzcon excursion, o’ course ).

Contrarily, my LARPin’ urge is still going strong! I’m mostly finished with Cardea’s new outfit (why do all my LARP characters have more clothes than I do??)! I used the muslin mock-up of the Belf skirt I made, which is how I’m justifying the new clothes. :3 I’m hoping it STOPS RAINING by Thursday morning so the ground has a chance to dry out before we all go roll around in the woods. :D Also, S’Mores this event, Y/N?

Other than that, I have two mostly-finished normal-person dresses laying across my sewing machine. One has lemons on it and the other one is black & white, I’m so excited for it to be consistently warm outside so I can wear them!! And I decided my next move will be to sew some cute work clothes, because it’s hard for me to find cute things that are within my price range. My current ambition is to reproduce a really cute Anthropologie dress that costs $170, because I can do it for less than half that. :D

Still WoWing, although erratically – think I’m entering into my Springtime-is-for-other-things mode. But last night, while I was in the happiest food coma ever from eating a hyoog, homemade Italian sammich, I killed every level 30 – 37 raptor I could find and stole all their flesh & eggs and leveled my cooking to 225. Probably pissed off every mid-level horde player in the area by hogging all the raptors for myself, but ehhhh, I’m still not sorry. :3

I GET PAID TOMORROWWWWWW YEAH! I’ve been waiting for this payday for over a week. I’m getting about $50 more than I was expecting, too! I’m going to do the non-responsible thing and I’m adding it to my spending money instead of my this-is-what-I-put-in-savings money or adding it to my credit card payment. Oh well! I’m not sorry!

Tonight – back to exercising! And then finishing Cardea’s tunic & possibly my lemon dress. Beware, I sense picture spamming on the horizon…>:3

Yesterday, I had the day off. Woot. I:

-did 5 loads of laundry
-cleaned my bathroom (incl. chloroxing the catbox)
-caulked up all holes in bathroom in an attempt to stem the Ant Invasion
-went to the dentist & found out that I have a cracked tooth
-also discovered that I must get a crown to remedy cracked tooth problem
-cooked dericious dinner (steak & broccoli) despite stupid tooth
-worked out
-WoW’d. A lot.

Today, I:

-am sore
-have already been lectured/reprimanded/yelled at four times this morning. Only one of these things was my fault/is in my power to fix.
-actually made breakfast! :O
-must work out some more
-am going to drink green beer with Tyler this evening!
-just realized I’ve never been to a bar on St. Patrick’s Day before
-have a case of the blahs
-think Smarch’s Smarchy weather is stupid
-just found out my Heat’n Bond has shipped, but not my gold taffeta. Buuhuu.
