Lulz...

  • Nov. 10th, 2009 at 10:39 PM
I ended up leaving my last guild since they weren't letting me raid. Found a new one (with a fellow wowlady, in fact). They are quite good.

And silly. And they let me raid.

In tonight's raid, this song popped up, and I figured I'd share. Dunno if it's popped up here before, but it's funny as all hell. Onyxia wipe guy never gets old.

you are loved

Today seriously went from lonely hormonal miserable mucking up lazy lady crap,

to awesome dinner, great music, fantastic lovin', pink roses, chocolate and sweet coffee, the Office re-runs, and finding lost items, all with a man who wants nothing more than to spend the evening organizing our closet and setting up the sewing room upstairs. Gotta get it all done now so I can crank out my Magus cosplay for AUSA!

This is a dorky girly post but I am so stoked about my wedding. <3
This is my beloved mate's main. As you can see, he is nearing Level 80 -- the first 80 out of any of our characters, as a matter of fact. When he dings, I'd like it to be a special occasion.

He has also recently expressed to me a desire for one of these. The problems I have answering this desire of his are actually twofold. Firstly, not only are fully constructed 'hogs prohibitively expensive on the AH, so are all the mats. Secondly, my own alt on this server, Meleiriel, is a lowbie too low to effectively farm enough gold or mats to manage the purchase price of this extremely expensive object in the time it will take for my mate to grind those last two levels.

What I'm wondering is this: are there any Ladies who call Cenarion Circle their home who might be willing to work out long-term payment arrangement for the crafting of this beast? Meleiriel is a tailor/enchanter in the beginning levels but I'm perfectly willing to work out something in terms of private crafting trade/gold exchange/personal slave for Horde-side alts and mains. I'd say 'help me, WoW Ladies, you're my only hope!' but that'd be cheesy. I will say, if there's anyone who wouldn't mind working with me on this, do let me know! Thanks in advance.

Disappearing Mods?

  • Nov. 10th, 2009 at 9:30 PM
Hi ladies!

Well, as many of us know, WoW was a little weird last night with the patch download and the initial "WTF?! A patch on a Monday?!" reaction. So I, like a devoted WoW player, downloaded the patch that was required.. But when I logged in and got to the "Character Selection" screen.. My Add-Ons tab was gone! I don't know if the patch did something to it, but my boyfriend said that he managed to download the patch last night and his mods were unaffected. Am I just going crazy?
Thinking that maybe my mods had been deleted by accident, I re-downloaded one from Curse.com, but I still cannot access the tab,, Um.. Help?

Any help would be appreciated.

(And yes, I have found romance again! After much thought and discussion, my boyfriend and I have decided to pursue a relationship again! Once my mods issue has been resolved, I'll be looking to you gals to help me out with a guild charter just for my boyfriend and I! He was such a good guy.. We ended it on good terms for silly reasons that he realised were just that-silly, so we decided to give it another shot.)

HAY SUP -- advice?

  • Nov. 10th, 2009 at 6:07 PM
The holidays are almost here and I'd like to open my commission lines up soon. :3 But I have some ideas I'd like to run by you girls (and guys) first because the vast majority of my commissioner base is female.

I usually do icon and chibi commissions but I've been trying to shake things up. All icons all the time makes me go a little crazy lol. One idea I have is to offer mounted chibi commissions:

Mounts are a big part of a character's identity in WoW and they're quite fun to draw. :D Normal chibi commissions go for $5, but the mount has (so far) proven to be a lot more work than the actual character lol. Do you think $10-$12 is a reasonable price for one of these?

Another idea: )

Anyway I am currently NOT open for these commissions -- I'm just gathering some opinions about possible new options for now. When I'm open, I will let you guys know. :3

Thanks!

Kitty tongue?

  • Nov. 10th, 2009 at 8:24 PM
I have two cats, Taz and Spock. I've had Spock for over a year now, I guess, and I've just noticed in the past month or two that his tongue is often sticking out a little bit. His mouth will be closed, and the tip of his tongue will be poking out. I was just curious if anyone else's cats did this? It's kind of funny, actually.

And a picture of the little stinker... )

So my car has been having weird problems stalling and not wanting to start for a few months, and I took it to a new mechanic today who knew exactly what to do to fix it and did so for $100. Then, despite not getting home from work until 6:30 PM because I was borrowing my boyfriend's car while mine was in the shop and I needed to pick him up, UPS delivered my package from NewEgg 5 minutes after I got home, sparing me a drawn-out trip to the UPS office that would have made me miss my raid tonight.

And then I logged onto WoW... )

City Backpack

  • Nov. 11th, 2009 at 9:09 AM
HI all!
This is my FIRST time posting here,
& i'm glad to share with you this backpack i made a while back :D
This is something I made in about May 2009, after my Mid-year Examinations. It's basically a small bag which can be carried around. I got the tutorial off HeartOfMary's blog. The tutorial was good, but the straps, I feel, should not be sewn from the bottom, but rather from the sides. Also, the next time i attempt this bag, I plan to make it bigger, so that it can fit A4 and so that I can bring it to school. A picture paints a thousand words, So here are the pics for you to see! You be the judge (:

It's been about three weeks since my brother got his new kitten, Gabriel (Gabe.) He went back to the vet today to get some more shots and he's gone from 1.5 pounds (at 5 or 6 weeks old) to 2.8 pounds. He's getting so big! So, I thought I'd post some more pictures. )

New Mommy

  • Nov. 10th, 2009 at 7:21 PM
Hi all! So today I became a new  mommy to a three month old kitten named Spock. I rescued him from ARF (Animal Rescue Foundation) the told me that he & his brothers & sister were abandoned there in a plastic tub with a lid on it and no air holes swimming in their own urine in July when they were newborns and they didn't think they'd survive. He's the last of his litter to be adopted out and I'm so glad I was the one who adopted him & he chose me.  He is such a sweetie and follows me everywhere. He is just a joy to be around. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions here since it's been a long time since I've had a kitten of my own.

offer- TAKEN

  • Nov. 10th, 2009 at 5:19 PM

This is...a bit odd, but humor me.

I have a stack of recepies. Old ones. Yellowed paper covered in (usually) pencil cursive. A food stamp application, with a peanut brittle recipie on the back, dates from November of 1976. This collection came with a rack of spice jars I wanted, but now I can't help but think these old, yellowed pages might be a neat art project. They might even be good recipies!

Every time I go to toss them in the recycle, I hesitate. I Just. Can't.

So... does anyone want them?

EDIT: TAKEN!

Thissss is my new doll pattern. It needs some tweaking, still, though. The pattern is quite a bit more painstaking than the simpler one, but I love the results. I'm not at ALL happy with how her mouth turned out (not the best at embroidery, yet, but I'm workin' on it), BUT I love her hair, I love the new pattern, and I'm really proud of her dress and... shoe... I have to make her a second one. xD

Speaking of doll dresses... anyone know how to keep the seams from being all crazy chunky? =/ I usually knit their dresses, so sewing them is a little new to me.

Professions Questions for Solo Player

  • Nov. 10th, 2009 at 2:48 PM
My main is a Level 64 BM Huntard, and when I say Huntard, I truly mean it. I've never really bothered to learn the "correct" way to play. I am a solo player, and I like it that way. I run around Azeroth leveling through questing and good ol' fashioned beating the crud out of mobs. I don't do instances, I don't do BGs, I don't join groups and that's okay to me. I am an extremely casual player who will play non-stop for a month and then not come back for a couple of months. I figure that as long as I'm not stepping on anyone's toes and enjoying myself it's okay that I don't know "correct" shot rotation. However, I come with a question regarding professions.

Currently, I'm a level 375 skinner and a 375 Tailor. I chose tailoring when I first started because I thought making bags would make me some money. I find that I actually make a lot more money from skinning and spend more money trying to level my tailoring. I've been thinking of dropping tailoring and picking up Engineering. I don't really want to change out skinning for mining (I have two other alts that are 20-30 and are miners). And seriously, the fun toys that engineers get to play with are muchly coveted by me. =D But I'm leery about dropping a profession I've worked so hard - and spent so much money - to level. It seems like I'm finally seeing a little return on my gold. Opinions?

"Oprah" Rose Hairclip

  • Nov. 10th, 2009 at 4:01 PM
A silly name, but apt, as there's a story behind the ribbon I used.  Oprah was my commencement speaker a couple of years ago, and she handed out books tied up in ribbons to each graduate.  I kept the ribbons because they were pretty (didn't find the books particularly fascinating), and decided to use one of them for this rose.

It looks like it's attached to the headband, but actually, it's attached to a no-slip alligator clip, and I just layered the headband on top of that for effect.
