Has anyone else noticed that the pathing seems reeeeally screwed up? They seem to jump behind you for no apparent reason and it's really hard to keep all of them in front of my poor DK tank. A bunch of other guildies noticed it too.
I was wondering if it was just our server or a widespread issue. And how on earth are we supposed to deal with it? Tanking was kind of a nightmare; I was dropping *fast* because I couldn't block/dodge/parry stuff that came from behind me.

Subtitle: A Cautionary Tale for Parents who Play WoW.
My almost 5 year daughter old loves to borrow my abandoned level 30 paladin and ride around Stormwind and sometimes go out to the forest and smite the low level baddies who live there. She also likes to sit on a lap and direct where and what to smack down if hubby or I are playing one of our mains. She knows their mounts can fly. She knows the key to press to get the horsies (ground mounts) out. So: Fast forward to this past weekend. Her older brother and I are going to go set up the Christmas tree. I'd been knocking out a few quests on my latest project, my newly 70 warlock, and had left her standing in Dalaran. Little girl said she'd rather play on my character then help assemble the tree. She asked if she could run around on the warlock instead of the paladin, so I said sure (how much trouble can she get into in Dalaran?), and off big brother and I went to do tree work.

I hit up ICC with four guildies last night, and we had a lot of fun. I felt the need to share our experiences with you all, so I wrote it up and posted it on my wow blog. Be warned - it is lengthy, but it was funny, and it includes a lot of the hysterical dialogue that went on.
Enjoy!

I play on a macbook and when I was leveling my lowbie priest last night I felt like WoW looked higher contrast (more difference between lights and darks), fuzzier, and, um, pinker? I thought I remembered seeing something about new mac video something or other in the patch notes, but I am too tech-illiterate to understand what it said. I was wondering if someone could confirm/explain this change so I don't have to worry.
Hello,
I have been a lurker (reading everything posted pretty much) and saw how knowledgeable you wonderful ladies (and gents) are. So I thought I would post a question (since I see you are all awesomely informed!).
1. I have 2 characters I figure will be my next 80's. One is a mage (after going thru the mage links I saw the empowered fire site and have been reading that and will probably head to EJ as well), however the one I have a question about is my DK. Do y'all have some good resource sites for DK's (mostly leveling, gear, geming and beginning raid info... She's only 75 right now but it's time for me to start looking to her future. She's blood tank spec currently)?
2. My baby toons (a priest and druid and lock) are languishing due to being in boring levels. Are there any guides that would assist with leveling? And are there fun addons to make solo quest grinding fun? Like Alamo for druids (I will randomly pop out of bear form just to see the comments, when alone).
Thanks for any and all insight. I love leveling alts when I am not raiding, and since I am between guilds with my 80's I wanted to play my fun leveling characters. ...... and now back to your regularly scheduled LJing...
*also hope I tagged this correctly...
**Edit I found some DK stuff, however still interested in the #2 question. Dk Stuffs found on http://www.tentonhammer.com/node/26318 **

I have two computers I play WoW on. One of which I lovingly refer to as the Frankenputer. It seemed to have taken the patch and will let me get just as far as the screen where you hit PLAY (loader screen?). But then nothing happens. I tried the Repair WoW thingy and got the message that WoW was seriously damaged and could not be repaired.
Ok, I guess the solution is to do the uninstall/reinstall two-step. But, and here's where it gets complicated, the hard drive is almost maxed out. I was thinking of putting in a second HD and then installing WoW there. That way, it'd have it's very own hard drive with all sorts of space to stretch and grow and wouldn't have to share with anything else.
And now for the question. If I install WoW on the new drive, will it interfere with patches, downloads and any other technical type thing I haven't thought of? Do those patches just search for any drive that might have WoW installed or do they just look for anything on the "C" drive? For those of you tech savvy folks out there who might have gone this way, what are your experiences?
Thanks bunches in advance!

I'm thinking about buying my boyfriend and myself authenticators. I noticed on the Blizz store that you can buy two. Can I go ahead and just buy them through mine or do they come pre-setup to your account?

I haven't painted in a long time and have decided I need to do it more often. I love it. For this craft, it's a wooden Santa decoration (about 2 ft. tall) we were given. I repainted (the original job was flaking and not to mention horrible). I have no idea how old this wooden Santa is, but now he looks MUCH better. Probably better than he's ever looked (aside from when he had leaves and a tree trunk and all that jazz).
One of these days I'll remember before pictures BEFORE I repaint something.
Here's the after shots:

( two detail shots )
I'm SO happy with this Santa. I can't stop looking at him. Maybe I'm officially in the holiday spirit?

Uhh..I feel dumb for asking this I guess but does anyone know if theres a way to change the color of the text used for quests? When I popped open my quest book for my mage..it was yellow on a yellow background. Ow.
This is the third hat I've made from this pattern. I love it a LOT. I shaved my head 6 weeks ago for charity, and haven't gone hatless since (bald? COLD. You have no idea how cold you can get until you have no hair).
So, I finally found a hat pattern I like, that I can make myself easily - I kind of went to town.

But on this, the third iteration, I added something...
( now with EARFLAPS )

(Sorry for two posts in one day, but Dude! I've been waiting for someone else to post this, and no one has yet!!!)
Today I was riding around Ironforge only suddenly to notice this:

Oh, that looks familiar? No, this isn't posts of screenshots from the scourge invasion back in 3.0. These were taken a few hours ago, on Scarlet Crusade post 3.3, and then I went and checked over on Echo Isles, and Wyrmrest Accord. There are boxes randomly in Ironforge on each server I checked (I rolled a few random level one alts on a few different servers to look), very much like the ones that popped up right before the zombies started popping up. There's also some in Stormwind harbor, but I don't recall if those have always been there or what, as I only remember the random boxes popping up in Ironforge one night, and there were zombies! everywhere the next day.
This is either:
A. A weird bug.
B. We're doing some sort of stocking up because of the war?
C. Arthas is PISSED.
What do you guys think? Weird bug? Arthas is busy? Or something else? Or did I and my guild just miss something in the patch notes?
/Tinfoil hat
Edited to add:
Mystery solved! The AQ gates reopened when the scurge event opened during 3.0 (Aka, the time when the zombies came out) and I guess it reopend on my server with the patch. During classic I never spent time in Ironforge, so I associated crates w/zombies. lol, I fail.

A few months ago, the Raid Leader and really close friend of mine left our raiding guild after a disagreement with the GL. After sticking around to see how the guild would recover, my Bf and myself realised that a good thing had come to an end and decided to leave as peacefully as possible and begin again on our own.
Raid Leader, my boyfriend and myself now run our own raiding guild. We've managed to recruit a lot of great new people and most of our friends from the old guild followed. We've got a diverse range of personalities that just seem to work really well together, but it's gotten me curious, especially about opinions on Guild Leaders and/or Guild Councils.
I've only been in 3 guilds since I started playing two years ago. A leveling guild that I'm still a part of on alts, my old raiding guild and now...my own. I've managed to cruise through WoW with little to no drama so far, but my experience with Guilds/GL's/councils is lacking.
What I want to know is...
Guild Leaders - What have you learnt from running a guild? Were there things you had to change about yourself for the better of your guild (such as making an effort not to be everyones best friend or having to resist the urge to rule with an iron fist)? What have you found works best for you and your guildies?
Guildies - What traits do you consider to make a great Guild Leader/Council? Traits that make a bad one? Personality types that worked/didn't work.
We're a raiding guild, so I'm interested in hearing about that dynamic. But feel free to add any pro's/cons about non-raiding guilds, too.
Thanks for your time!

It's just not the same now...I loved jumping into a ball of pure shadow energy. What happened, dispersion? We used to be such good friends....

Good evening ladies! Thank you for your patience today and yesterday as we tried to head off all of the posts about patch day. I think we're safe for the time being, so please feel free to create top level posts about 3.3 and other goodies.

my poor mina just got home after having 3 teeth pulled :/ she is totally miserable as well as drowsy. she keeps looking at me then meowing her 'i'm so pissed with you...and in a lot of pain' meow which has made me cry 3 times already today! so. my vet said everything went well, then he gave me 2 days worth of metacam [0.3ml with food]. i havent gave her anything yet as i am not to start until tomorrow, but i just read a bunch of horror stories online regarding metacam -- apparently it can cause sudden death due to renal failure. seriously, i am absolutely freaking out. has anyone ever used this or has experience with it?
oh, and he gave her antibiotics [amoxicillin trihydrate / clavulanate potassium].
HELP.
i have no idea what to do tomorrow :/

I'm an officer and founding member of a guild...it's a few months old and we've been doing really well. One of the officer's friends server transferred here to help us get going. He's a really geared shaman who was in one of the top 50 U.S. guilds (but left because he was sick of drama and bad attitudes), so it was really cool that he came to our guild. He led out in raids and knew the strategies like the back of his hand.
At first it was great, we were downing bosses and progressing really well. We had an awesome progression 10man group that I was part of that worked on hard modes, togc, and was planning on going into Icecrown. But recently, he's been bringing his friends in from his old server and slowly our core team is getting replaced by them. Our death knight tank was replaced with a warrior, our hunter GM is often replaced by another hunter (and when she *is* invited she feels like it's only because she's the GM), our mage was replaced, etc. Tonight we did the weekly raid quest and were all excited about going to ICC. We dropped group after Ignis and he said he was going to reform the raid for Icecrown. When I wasn't invited back, I whispered the GM asking what was up. She said there was another resto druid in the raid and she didn't know who he was. I looked at the guild roster and apparently he joined a couple days ago. He is slightly more geared than me, but not by much. And guess what? He's a friend of this shaman.
I was really upset. I know it's not a huge deal, but I've been part of this guild since the beginning and we had an awesome raid team. I don't know why he felt like he needed to bring in his friends and replace people. I'm uncomfortable talking to him about how I feel, though, because he hates it when people QQ about not getting invited to raids.
What should I do? I basically just lost my raid spot for no good reason, and I'm not sure what to do about it.
EDIT: The shaman is our raid leader and an officer.
