Argh! Yeargh!

This holiday has been A Bunch Of Crazy, holy crap. First, I caught Calla eating part of a lily - lilies are extremely toxic to cats and send them into renal failure - on Friday at like, midnight, so I had to rush her to the emergency animal hospital. She's there until tomorrow morning. Fortunately the vet was able to induce vomiting and give her activated charcoal to soak up a lot of the toxins, and she's been on an IV fluids and has bloodwork done every 24 hours to monitor her kidney levels (? I don't really know what that means except that when toxins are present they're higher). So far she seems ok, thank goodness! But from now on, no more lilies in the house. XD

Sasha has also been sick. For the past three days he's had the SMELLIEST diarrhea ever and today he started throwing up. I took him to the regular vet and since he's also been around lilies I had them do bloodwork & a urinalysis on him as well. He also peed in his carrier on the way to the vet, so Tyler & I had to bathe him, which he did NOT like. He got hold of my shoulder and sank his claws in, and now it feels like I got a flu shot. Then we had to give him 2 pills and some probiotic paste, and in doing so he clawed the shit out of Tyler and bit my hand. CATS, WHY ARE YOU SO FUCKING NUTS. I SWEAR THAT I'M ONLY TRYING TO MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER.

All told, this weekend I have spent about $1600 on my cats. BLEH. Calla will most likely be fine, no word on Sasha yet but I'm sure he'll be okay too. I'm pretty sure that since I didn't get sick when all of the other feepits are, my kats took that bullet for me. Poor kats. <3

However, Wednesgiving went FANTASTICALLY and I'm so happy that Tyler & I could finally host a gathering. Now our fridge is so full of leftovers I'm pretty sure we won't need to cook for about two weeks! XD

Time to run out to Miss Tini-feepit's wedding dress fitting, OMG SQUEE SO EXCITING!!! :D

Also probably some Foster's Grille & Tropical Smoothie for lunch, I mean come on what's $15 more to the amount of money I've spent this weekend, eh? Eh? Amirite amirite? T_T

Crap crap crap

Today, I:

-somehow missed my alarm and didn't wake up until 7:30. 7:30 is when I normally leave for work.
-discovered that I double-paid my credit card bill and did NOT pay my health insurance bill
-drove 20 minutes to Panera Bread for lunch only to realize that I didn't have my debit card
-realized that I don't even KNOW where my debit card is, so I had to cancel it and get a new one.
-was told that my new debit card will not be here for 7-10 business days unless I wanted to pay a $30 fee
-AM SERIOUSLY CRAVING OLIVE GARDEN SPAGHETTI RAHGH
-did not get to eat lunch because of lack of debit card/waking up late this morning and not having time to prepare one
-just realized that lack of debit card means NO GREENWAY IN THE EVENINGS which means an extra super long commute home until my new card comes in.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU--

I AM SO GLAD IT'S FRIDAY.

Wait wait, now here are Five GOOD Things so I don't road raeg myself into premature death on the drive home this evening:

1. Work is super lax and like. No one gives a shit that I'm on livejournal/facebook/gmail all day. Yay!
2. I'm wearing a really comfy pair of Lucky jeans that I rescued from caffeine_monkey's give-away pile!
3. I'm looking forward to really getting the house in order & cleaned up this weekend (unpacking all of my books, putting all the loose stuff away, finishing painting the kitchen and CLEANING EVERYTHING)
4. Wednesgiving is next week! Also, next week is a 4-DAY WEEKEND and I get paid for half of it! w00t!
5. Possibly attending AUSA on Sunday. Or maybe just quiet unwinding at home. Either way, <3 Sunday.

Busy busy!

Been so busy lately! But firstly, THANK YOU to everyone who's offered to help Tyler & me move. We're watching "Across the Universe" and I'm buying pizza & beer afterwards for anyone who's interested!

~Have potentially found a new job with a Real Estate company in Reston. Am probably going back for a 2nd interview tomorrow or Friday! Wish me luck!

~Current assignment with Five by Five ending today (just got notice yesterday...was a bit miffed about the short time frame they gave me >:|)

~I FINALLY HAVE INSURANCE. *gives the finger to Kaiser and hugs BCBS. And makes about a hundred doctor's appointments*

~Moving this weekend, HOLY CRAP! Been packing/painting/cleaning up a storm.

~Have scrubbed more grout & kitchen appliances in the past week than I ever want to scrub again. Kristin - 1. Dirty Ass Kitchen - 0!

~Unforunately, still have to scrub bathrooms & their respective floors. D'oh!

~Kitchen & bedroom at nuu haus are mostly painted!

~Have obtained Exalted reputation with the Netherwing Faction and am the proud owner of an Azure Netherwing Drake!

~Have ALSO obtained my Albino Drake!

~Currently speed-leveling Cerda to 60 in the hopes of joining the other OL-ready toons in Schadenfreude.

~Made a Draenei shaman as part of Team I Wish I Loved This Class with Audrey & her Human pally. WISH US LUCK.

Fortunately I have a four-day weekend coming up as I'm planning to use Monday & Tuesday to unpack & organize the haus. Hopefully I will be starting with the new place in Reston next week as well...o.o

Plea for HALP!

Plea for halp!

Hokay! So, good news - Tyler & I GOT THE HOUSE!!!! YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYYYYYY FINALLY ETC ETC. We’ve been painting & cleaning & squeeing not-so-quietly for about a week now. However...this mean we actually have to, y'know...move into it.

Okay, that’s not so fun. But this is the part where I BEG FOR ASSISTANCE anyway. We are planning to move in on Saturday, November 7, 2009. If anyone is available to help I would appreciate it!! We will provide pizza and beer (and my Random Lucky Booze Box will be up for grabs – I have NO IDEA what’s in there, but it’s probably Ruby Red and Coconut Rum and other girly things) and cookie cake to everyone who is able to help out!

We are planning to split the forces for the first half of the day. Tyler will be borrowing his parents’ giant ass SUV & trailer and has mostly boxes & clothes to move, so I think we want to send one or two people over to help him (he’ll probably be able to recruit a couple of his friends as well to help with this). However, I have a whole basement full o’ shit to move and will be renting a U-Haul and borrowing my mom’s van, so I would like to commandeer as many people as possible. XD

Please let me know if you will be able to help! We will be ever so grateful.

Insolent indolence - an actual update!

So, I've come to a few conclusions about My Life So Far (which, by the way, Exit Mundi's "Stop!" Theory has really tried to convince me doesn't exist).

One, I think I've done a pretty good job of becoming a Capable Adult who can Still Have Fun. I work when I have to and even put in uncomfortable extra hours to make sure that I do my job well, but I know when to say enough is enough. However, I don't think I will ever be able to truly please my parents unless I get a government job that pays me a six-figure salary and stop liking "weird stuff" like WoW and cosplay. It's hard to be around them because even when I'm comfortable with myself, I can still feel them glancing at me in that bewildered, perplexed fashion that I hate - why didn't our daughter turn out like us? I don't have an over-developed sense of duty (not to be confused with loyalty), nor do I like average things like gourmet seafood dinners or watching professional sports on TV. I don't really care about making The Most Money or having The Biggest House. They don't understand how video games and cheap cheeseburgers and a job that pays the bills without requiring a 60-hour per week commitment can possibly be more preferable. Long story short - I am really, really tired of living under my parents' unsatisfied roof and can't wait to move out (again).

Secondly, I've decided that I am just not cut out for administrative work. I can do it, but it requires such intense concentration from me that it is extremely unenjoyable. I'm not the type of person who naturally writes everything down and has a concrete schedule that I actually stick to. I might PLAN to clean the house at 2:00 and be ready to leave for a party at 4:30, but the reality is that time frames just don't stick with me. Sure, I'll clean and I'll make it to the party, but who cares what time it gets done as long as it gets done? I like problem solving, but hate problem solving within an office "process". I like creating schedules, but I hate the hoops I have to jump through to follow "process". God, PROCESS! Creative license > Process. That just might be my main reason for disliking administration.

Thirdly - well, maybe it's just an extension of "I Hate Administrative Work", but anyway - I've decided to not look for a full-time, permanent job and to just continue temp work for the forseeable future because...I'm Going Back to School (gasp!). Again, creative license > Process, and the only way I'm going to be able to use creative license within a job is if I have the training to actually LAND a creative job. Hence, school. I'm thinking Spring or Summer 2010. That's more than enough time to get my credit card debt squared away (it's down to half of what it was in June, woohoo!) and enough time for me to check out programs and tuition and attempt to get financial aid (although I may not qualify since I already have a Bachelors degree. Boohoo ;A;)

And...I think that's the end of my What I've Decided essay. Also, I'm at work, lawlz! My supervisor has been gone, so I can get my work done without pretending to be frantically busy. So far, I have done perhaps....5 hours of work this week. And that includes doing every aspect of my job that I should be - I'm *technically* not slacking off.

Inconsequential news of the day - I took my nape piercing out a couple weeks ago. Bye bye.

Haus news - we are supposedly closing this Friday. Who knows. Originally we were supposed to close last Friday, then that got pushed to Tuesday the 13th, and now it's on the 16th. Here's hoping! Short sales are an absolute nightmare - we're approaching 5 months of negotiations and setbacks now. I can't wait for it to all be over!

This weekend I'll be in Kilmarnick (how do you even spell that?) for Tyler's grandmother's 80th birthday. A couple weeks ago terra_firma helped me pick out an awesome dress and a pair of shoes for it.

OH. SPEAKING OF SHOPPING. kissokomes and terra_firma, I'M BEGGING YOU. PLZ TAKE ME ON ONE OF YOUR MAGICAL ROSS SHOPPING RUNS. PLZ. SOMETIME IN NOVEMBER WOULD BE OSM. :D

AND YOU, caffeine_monkey. DON'T THINK YOU ESCAPED. I NEED TO LEECH OFF YOUR THRIFT STORE-FU TOO. YOU KNOW, WHENEVER YOU GET BACK FROM PARIS. <3

Anyway, so I'll be in Kilmarnick, but I get this Friday off! So tomorrow is like my Friday! I'm so happy! Also, Sunday will be my OMG I MISSED YOU SO MUCH, WoW day. Don't judge.

Now, back to waiting on the techs to get back from lunch so I can snag one of them to cover the front desk so I can EAT. I AM FATTISHLY HUNGRY!

Pffffft TLC

There's this TV show on TLC about some mid-Western girl who's "possessed". Because ZOMGZ THERE WAS A PENTAGRAM CARVED INTO HER LEG. No joke. And there was some kind of German phrase carved into her abdomen.

Yeah. Whatever. They're "exorcising" her at the moment. She's like a bad larper. "MY NAME IS SE--(ohshitItotallyforgotmyline)--SIX. IT'S SIX. PICK YOUR NAME, I HAVE SIX." Like, that is actually what this chick said during her "exorcism". I think these people watched "The Exorcism of Emily Rose" one too many times.

I mean. I believe in the spiritual world and I do believe possession is possible. But pffffft, TLC. Like you would actually WANT to find a real exorcism to film.

Ok now Intervention's come on and my kat is walking on my keyboard, and it's time for bed.

I'm still tired from moving yesterday! It was hard for me to sleep last night too for some reason, and I ended up wide awake at 8am this morning, wtf haha. I haven't even finished moving stuff into my room, it's all in the living room & foyer. However, tonight I am feeling MUCH too lazy to finish that. :3

It was GORGEOUS today, which was great because I went to a community craft fair with my mom and drove to Reston to hang with ares_bourn, classic1st and the other feepits. The drive there is AWESOME and it was the perfect temperature and Fall is totally in the air...this is my favourite kind of weather! Kate also gave me my first non-drunk introduction to Rock Band and, um, let me just say that now I am SO buying a PS3 because I will be playing that game forever and ever. Thanks Kate! :D

Now I am at home and am doing laundry/watching TV (gasp! TV! First time in over a year, it's AMAZING)...also QQ-ing a little over my apartment-less state. caffeine_monkey, I totally already miss living with you. D:

Ok...now back to watching mindless TV!

Moving halp?

So...just to get it out there:

I'm moving this weekend!

Omg! I was expecting to move on September 19th, but due to various circumstances that didn't work out. I know this is short notice, and I'm sorry! >_<

...Sooooo, does anyone want to help? :D :D :D Pretty pretty pleeeeeease? I'm moving in with my parents until Tyler & I close on the Haus (OMG YAY!), and my mom offered to make everyone lunch! And I'm hoping to take most of my boxes (except for the really heavy crap) over this week, so it should be mostly furniture.

I can also provide fatty foods of choice if there are any requests. Drop me a comment or <s>gimme a phone call</s> DO NOT CALL MY PHONE BECAUSE IT IS A PIECE OF SHIT. Slight aside here - I've been getting maybe 1 in 5 calls people make to me. So if you call, I probably won't get it, and I'll only get your voicemail in about two weeks. Texting seems to be fairly reliable though...how sad. Next paycheck = i-Phone ahoy. ANYWAY. Moving? Anyone? Please? :D

THANK YOU in advance to any takers. I know manual labour is a REALLY GREAT WAY to spend a Saturday!!!!!!!

Decadence (and parenthesis)

Today, I bought something off of Etsy. I think it looks like a Naaru from WoW. I think I may have just opened up a door to dangerous territory, lawlz.

Last night, I started work on two art pieces (one small single canvas and one triptych) to decorate my & Tyler’s house (whenever we get one ;A; I sure wish the short sale we’re tangled up in now would just end already, one way or another). I also had no urge to play WoW (WHAT?! I know, right?! Totally weird), so instead I watched a Winnie the Pooh movie & Serenity. Now I have an almost overwhelming urge to watch Firefly again…blast! If only I owned it!

This morning, I’ve eaten 6 Wegman’s mini chocolate chip cookies, 2 chocolate-iced doughnuts from Dunkin Donuts, and drank a glass of apple juice (and I wonder why I’m slowly but surely getting fatter…).

This weekend, I’m raiding the liquor store for boxes (no, not booze, sadly) and will start to pack. I’m moving in two weeks – I still can’t wrap my head around that fact. It’s undetermined whether or not I will be living with my parents for a short period of time, but it’s quite likely that I will. Hell, I won’t complain *too* much, no bills for a month is a-ok with me. The trade-off of not getting to see Tyler as much really sucks though. I sure hope we can find a house soon (EXCUSE ME MR. BANK WHO IS DRAGGING ITS METAPHORICAL FEET, HURRY UP AND MAKE YOUR DECISION K).

I also think I’m getting sick. The lymph node on the right side of my neck has progressively been getting more & more painful. Blah. However, this prompted me to FINALLY mail out my insurance application (I’ve been uninsured since I quit SRI. /laaaazy), so I should be covered by no later than October 1st providing there aren’t any administrative snafu’s (I just wanted to say snafu).

My kats are starting to get along, but Sasha pisses me off way more than is probably healthy. I think once he’s allowed to run around an actual house he will bug me less, though. Keeping him in my room is balls-ass annoying because he’s SO loud at night – always knocking books off of shelves or rustling in a litter box for15 minutes at a time or playing with the blinds or jumping on poor Calla...ARGH. He’s definitely not sleeping in my room when he doesn’t have to.

I think that’s about it. Nothing out of the ordinary.

FUSS AND BOTHER!

So, it looks like I will most likely need to live with my parents for an indefinite (but hopefully SHORT) period of time because short sales are the DEVIL, and the bank is drawing this whole buying-a-house thing out way longer than necessary.

Pros of moving in with the parents:

No rent or utilities bills!
I will significantly reduce my credit card debt (I can pay about $1500 a month and still be quite happy with spending/saving money)
If I stay long enough to eliminate my credit card debt (~3 months), I can start saving money for haus expenses
My parents will let me use their basement as storage, so I wouldn’t have any bills except for gas & insurance
My kats will have a bigger space to move around in and hopefully Sasha will stop being such a butthead

Cons of moving in with the parents:

…moving back in with my parents after being on my own will be a difficult adjustment… D:
No more sleepovers with Tyler…sooooooo ronery D:
In that vein, MUCH less time with Tyler in general coz he’s so far away & no sleepovers D: D: D:
Invasion of personal space (my parents are up-the-butt nosy about what I do/who I see/where I am/etc. when I live with them)
Having to pack/move/unpack twice…eeeeeeew

Mrrr. At least there are SOME good aspects, now that I look at it…I’ll save money and my kats will hopefully get along. Ugh, but moving twice and hardly seeing Tyler = total sweaty ballsac. D: I’m hoping I can maybe be like “The parents. I’m going to LIVE WITH THIS MAN. PLEASE LET HIM SPEND THE NIGHT AND NOT IN ANOTHER BEDROOM. THANKS.” I don’t know why they’re so Puritan-ish about that whole deal, it’s not like my dad is religious. I think my mom just wants to ignore the potential “Ess Eee Echs” factor because she somehow missed out on the 60’s sexual revolution and it embarrasses her so she passive-aggressively avoids talking about it. GRR.

There’s my fuss. If it were in my power I would throttle the Bank That’s Dragging its Feet until I got a solid answer.

P.S. SRI ACTUALLY SENT ME MY VACATION PAYOUT ONLY 15 DAYS LATE, AND I BOUGHT THE COMPLETE STAR TREK: TNG SERIES WITH IT, BOOYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

As I asked the previous time you came around, please Fuck Off. I don’t want to see your ugly orange face around my dashboard anymore. Just yesterday my gas gauge (and your ACCOMPLICE) told me I had a quarter of a tank left. Today, my gaslight is on. Since when does a tank that is 25% full equal an emergency? Is this my punishment for having McDonald's for dinner? Was sitting in the drive-thru really that taxing? I can find no other reason for your deviant behaviour. Please cease and desist.
Useless Post #546,723

--Sunday, Tyler & I are going to go see our potential house. It’s FINALLY vacant (meaning FINALLY minus people who consistently sleep til 4pm – seriously, we went there twice and both times people were in bed – people who smoke inside, and have piles and piles of crap obscuring everything)!

--I painted my toenails a really shiny purple colour and I now all I want to do is stare at them.

--I uh…got a RAF account. *hides from the shame* How long does it take for triple XP & the Zhevra mount to be applied to the account/accounts?? I did this last night and it’s still not registering!

--It’s about to storm outside

--I decided I want to make at least one art piece for each room of the new house. Spent last night “researching” for inspiration (aka Google- & Etsy-fu)

--Etsy.com is awesome!

--Did you know they make WoW credit cards where you can earn game time by buying stuff???

--I want a WoW credit card so I can earn game time by buying stuff!

--Sasha and Calla were friendly last night!! For about 4 seconds, anyway. They sniffed each others’ faces! It was cute.

--Tyler & I are going to I-HOP TOMORROW FOR BREAKFAST *FATTY*

--Oh, also, belated – L5R LARP WAS AWESOOOOOOOOOME.

--Now I really want to Wanderlust again

--Also hiking, also it sure is August outside with all the wet & the humid…

--I had a dream a couple nights ago that I had a baby

Way Too Awesome

I just had a “humans are fucking weird” moment. My company got a full-colour, 6x11” advertisement for a horse race, and it’s just like. What the fuck are those guys DOING, running in circles on top of big smelly animals and jumping over bushes in windbreakers & helmets? God. Humans are FUCKING WEIRD. (No offense to any horse riders of course, this just struck me for some reason).

Anyway, I’m pretty sure my kats tried to drive me & Tyler insane last night. Sasha (my new kat, confined to the bathroom until he and Calla learn how to be fuzz-frenz) decided it would be a GREAT IDEA to play with the door stop (wound metal spring that apparently makes a very appealing twang-thwock noise when batted). So Tyler hauls himself up and sticks his head in the door to mutter a barely coherent “STOPPIT SASHA” before stumbling back into bed. Unfortunately, seeing Tyler prompted Sasha into a fit of “Mrow. Mrow. Mrow. MROW. Mrrr. MrrrrrrrOW MROW MROW MROW MROW”’s until I got up and brushed him for a few minutes. Later, around 3 AM, Calla decided to CLIMB THE BLINDS on my window. When I woke up and tried to grab her, she just decided it would be better to crash to the floor in a sheepish heap. In order to soothe her dignity and punish me for interrupting her blind-climbing escapade, she decided to play in my water glass and flick cold, cold water onto my face at random intervals throughout the night. Ffffff. So much for going to bed early.

THANKS KATS. THIS IS WHY YOU WILL NOT BE SLEEPING IN THE SAME ROOM AS TYLER AND ME ONCE WE'VE MOVED.

Tomorrow, I think I’m just gonna introduce Sasha & Calla to each other and let them duke it out. I can’t take too many more nights of Sasha’s ‘OMG LET ME OUUUUUUUUUUUT’ yowls.

Also, I’ve been thinking that part of the reason I love having long hair is coz I can hide behind it when having inappropriate emotional responses (ie, blushing for no reason, laughing at inopportune times, concealing impatience when being bombarded by a micromanager).

So my weekend was pretty baller. I hung out with terra_firma for most of the day on Saturday, which was awesome coz it had been about a month since we'd been able to get together! We totally fatted it up and blew off a social engagement (partly because Audrey was feeling unwell, partly because we wanted to keep sewing, and partly because we wanted to keep eating cookie cake and watching videos of Chris-Chan on The Interweb). I got a full lesson on the weirdness of Real Dolls, I discovered George the Spider, also GIVE ME BACK MY PLAYSTATION NETWORKS JACK THADDIUS, I finished about 75% of my Basilisk mock-up dress (including the top part of the sleeve that actually connects to the dress! I still have to adjust the sleeve & neck holes as they're too big, and I have to draft up the sleeve shape & size from about mid-bicep to wrist), and I also learned that when you decided to make someone else fulfill your social obligations, they will also cook you a delicious dinner! Thanks, Kevin & Tyler!

On Sunday I did about 8 loads of laundry (Calla decided to be a stupid pee-kat and not only went in her own bed, but also in my laundry basket full of clean clothes. Fffffffffffff), vacuumed, cleaned the bathroom (although I have to sweep it daily now coz Sasha gets kitty litter EVERYWHERE with his long draggy-ass fur...lol, or draggy ass-fur, BA DUM TISH!), changed my sheets, dusted, and (sort of) cleaned the kitchen! My mom also made me & Tyler a dericious dinner of steak, baked potatoes, corn on the cob, and tomato caprese. Mmmmm mmm. Also a cake that she made over a month ago that tasted like she just made it that same day. Apparently cakes freeze really well, who knew?

How is it already August? :O

Yesterday I did all productive things I needed to (dusted, vacuumed, changed sheets, changed litter box, really cleaned my entire bathroom including floors & shower!) and I also loafed a lot, watched Sex in the City a lot, played WoW a lot, and almost finished the upholstery job I'm doing for my mom (a very belated Christmas gift). I also realized I have a stupid case of tendonitis on the top & left sides of my right wrist....probably from playing WoW on my laptop all the time. /win, /cool, all that.

After work today I'm going to meet a kittykat I may potentially be adopting. Hope I get along with him and his current owner!

Okay! In an effort to not be completely negative...

A MEME

Comment anonymously with a compliment for me and a compliment for yourself! Repost in your livejournal and I'll return the favour...or will I? YOU'LL NEVER KNOW! :D

Lazy weekend = win.

So Tyler came over (lolduh) and we were some happy loafs. We cooked a lot (made steak & potatoes, hamburgers, tomato caprese, & even pancakes & eggs & bacon for breakfast on Saturday! Now I'm hungry. XD) and I decided to be an old housewife and bought 600-thread count sheets and it is like sleeping on LUXURY, mmmm.

Also we have a bit of news on the ever-lasting House Quest - it SHOULD (hopefully) be ready to close in about a month & a half. It was a short sale, which meant that the owner was about to be foreclosed on and decided to sell the house real quick before the bank could actually foreclose in order to save his credit score. This, unfortunately, means that it takes FOR FUCKING EVER to finish the deal. After about a month (we submitted the offer in early June), the bank(s) finally determined that the seller meets the requirements for a short sale (meaning s/he is actually, truly broke, and doesn't have some pile of money ferreted away somewhere that the bank could potentially have) and a negotiator has been assigned to move between the two banks. Oh, right, coz the seller has two mortgages from two separate banks. So now the banks have to decide on the percentage each bank is going to get from the sale (and the negotiator is the dude who goes back & forth). This will (hopefully) not take more than two months (it's already been about a week since this negotiation process began), and then (HOPEFULLY) we can close at the beginning of September & be ready to move in by the end of September. SHORT SALES. DO NOT DO THEM. Too bad this house was just so perfect or I would've passed it up. XD

Anyway.

In the past week, I’ve started & finished three WoW novels and am on my fourth. Why does the backstory have to be so INTERESTING?? I've been playing way less just so I can read way more. WIN.

I also spent like $250 on my poor stupid car (fuel injection flush + transmission fluid flush + oil change = at least my car better run awesomely now, dammit) and took my mom to see Harry Potter as a belated birthday present, and watched Tyler put together the lining for his Count D coat. Other than that, my apartment was Loaf Central this weekend. Quite acceptable. :D

Now, however, I am bored. This is the third work-day in a row where I have not had shit to do. And I'm not complaining because I'm sure at some point I'll be so busy I want to scream, but right now.....I'M BORED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So bored, in fact, I think I am going to finish organizing the filing system of my own accord. Geez.

Very long update/picture post - be warned :D

First off, I hope everyone had a happy 4th of July!! May your patriotic spirit(s) never die! Tyler & I visited his grandparents down in central VA - they have a house on the Chesapeake Bay and it was very relaxing. And I got to go on a boat, it was awesome, everyone should go on a boat and they should bring a nice buzz along with them.

Secondly, more of that Words Meme from caffeine_monkey ():

1.) douche-rocket - this is perhaps my favourite cussword/mean name to call people when I'm mad. That, and any other form of "douche + (random word)". IE, douchecookie. Deliciously soggy. :D

2.) Joey (hahaha) - What? I can't think of her as anything but, because IT'S HER NAME. And really, it's only like, 30% out of spite. Mostly, it's just weird to me that she pretends some pretentious pronunciation that she made up is her given name.

3.) cocktail/fuss hour - mmm mmmm baby. You can't beat a drink & a good fuss with a good friend after a crappy day.

4.) questionably-healthy-dinners-involving-cookies-cream-cheese-and-salami - THERE IS NOTHING QUESTIONABLE ABOUT THESE, THEY ARE DELICIOUS & NUTRITIOUS.

5.) KITTY! - my wonderful, adventurous, fussy, retarded, spazzy kittykat. She's dumb and cute and totally awesome, and is finally used to caffeine_monkey and even sits on her bed for company when she's ronery! Everybody should love her. :D

In other (*ahemcoughWoWahem*) news ~
So about a week ago I got an authenticator for my WoW account from a coworker - you push a button and get a random 6-digit code that had to be typed in every time I logged in - extra security and all. Well, on Sunday, the battery died - NUUU! And since it was Sunday, the WoW phonelines were closed, so I tried to pop the back off with a screwdriver and ended up stabbing myself in the thumb six times in the same place - I am so smart, S-M-R-T. And after all that I found out the battery is plain, unmarked, and SOLDERED INTO THE STUPID CASE. Gay. So last night I called the billing help line and waited on hold for 40 MINUTES. When I finally got to a rep I (of course) almost accidentally hung up on her, AND it only took about 45 seconds to resolve the issue. D'OH. But at least it's fixed. :D

And! That lull in my WoW-service got me in gear & I measured & took pictures of the fabric & trim in 2 of the 3 giant bins that are just CHOCK FULL OF CRAP that I have laying around. I can't believe how much white casa satin & gold lamé I have, it's obscene. So, thank you, terra_firma, for motivating me. I've been meaning to do this for ages.

Look what I found! I'm so excited, they're pretty much perfect.

Oldest first!

While in North Carolina last summer, we found a random tiled section of the sidewalk with Tini's larp character's name. Hence, happy Tini. :D

More Tini, this time giving me nightmares while trying out bodypaint techniques for her Dark Elf Nero character.

The Three of Cups, Beltaine 2009! Lookit us and our drunkish smirky faces.

My completed Bard cape! Hopefully to be worn by Lorelei if there's a summer Wanderlust event - if not this year, then next!

Oreo in her Midsummer gear (+ Titansteel Spellblade). Um, yeah, moving on...

There was a bun on the yard. Just chillin. Didn't even care when I dropped leaves & stuff on him. Just a bun.

My angry kat. :D <3 my angry kat!

Apparently I am allergic to grass. In drunken feepit fashion, the lady feepits decided that shot-putting our purses 30 feet away and rolling down a hill next to a busy road was a smart idea. I think we flashed like everyone, ever. Not to mention my purse exploded all over, and that grass is sharp. However, overall assessment of Grown Ladies Rolling Down a Hill in Public: Baller, Fun, and Feepity. A+, would do again.

Aaaaand that's that. :D
